Dawn Williams Blunt, MHR, MEd

Dawn is a 2015 graduate of the ARISE! International, Inc Shelter from the Storm© program and a survivor of childhood sexual abuse and sexual assault. Upon graduating from Shelter, Dawn continued her healing journey working and decided to pay it forward and go back to school to obtain a master’s degree in Marriage, Family, and Couples Counseling from Lamar University in December 2023. She currently works part-time as a therapist with Lifeologie Counseling in Cedar Hill and works with teenagers, adults, couples, and families as she pursues her second career. Her clinical interest includes working with clients that have experienced trauma, emotional neglect, and attachment related challenges.

While helping others is her passion, Dawn also has 27+ years of experience in government and non-profit sectors. She currently serves as the Dallas Region Civil Rights and Equal Opportunity Manager with the Social Security Administration (SSA) where she manages the equal employment opportunity (EEO) program for the Dallas region including diversity, equity, and inclusion programs and disability accommodation services for Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Texas. She held other leadership and Human Resource positions with SSA, including Deputy Human Resource Director, Training Director, Studio Manager, Succession Management Coordinator, Labor and Employee Relations Specialist, and Area Supervisor.

Her non-profit experience includes work with Metropolitan Tulsa Substance Abuse Services as a Mental Health Case Manager, Referral Counselor, Group Leader, and Outreach Coordinator. She serves as the vice-chair of the Workforce Development Committee for the Dallas/Fort Worth Federal Executive Board (FEB) and volunteers on FEB’s Mediator Cadre. Dawn continues to volunteer and serve as an advocate for abuse survivors.

Dawn is a dedicated mother of two and enjoys spending time with family and friends. She is a life-long learner and prior to earning her most recent degree in counseling, she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Langston University and Master for Human Relations from Oklahoma University. Dawn continues to grow and learn new therapeutic modalities now that she has completed her coursework.
